  • When you interact with our marketing emails or other online content that links to this policy (for example, campaigns delivered through marketing platforms)

    Children’s and Minors’ Data

    Our Services are not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect any personal data from, children under the age of 18. If we learn we have collected or received personal data from a child under 18 years old without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Because Hinkley operates primarily on a business to business model and uses consumer facing accounts mainly for favorites, product registration, communications, and outlet purchases (rather than standard direct consumer sales through www.hinkley.com), the personal data we collect is generally limited to information you or your organization choose to provide when you create or manage accounts, save favorites, register products, request services, or otherwise interact with our Services.


    The types and categories of personal data we collect or process include:

    • Name
    • Business name or company name
    • Job title and professional role
    • Business type (for example, architect, consumer, interior designer, landscape designer, general contractor, hospitality procurement, showroom)
    • Address (such as home address or business address)
    • Email address and phone number
    • Information about your client base, whether you have a retail showroom, whether you currently sell lighting or fans, how you heard about us, and similar business profile information


    • Payment information, including:

    • Payment card information (for example, credit card number, expiration date, and verification code) that you provide through our online portals and outlet website.
    • Billing address and limited stored payment method information, as supported by our systems and/or our payment processor.


    • Account history and transaction information, including:

    • Account type (for example, customer, trade, wholesale) and account status.
    • Orders, invoices, and purchases made through our portals and outlet website, including order history, products purchased, shipping addresses, and transaction totals.
    • Information about returns (where permitted under our policies), replacement part requests, store credit, and gift cards.
    • Rewards activity (such as points, redemptions, and tier status) for Hinkley rewards programs where applicable.
    • Information about your interactions with features such as “favorites,” address book, stored payment methods, and order by SKU.


    • Professional account verification and tax information, including:

    • Federal tax ID, social security number, and reseller certificate numbers, where you provide them as part of applying for trade or wholesale accounts or incentive programs.
    • Information you provide to demonstrate that you meet program eligibility requirements, including any minimum purchase thresholds for certain account types.


    • Product registration, service, and warranty information, including:

    • Product identification codes and product details you provide when registering products.
    • Date and location of purchase.
    • Information and images you upload to help us identify a product or replacement part, or to support warranty or service requests.


    • Rewards and promotional information, including:

    • Information you provide when participating in Hinkley Rewards or other loyalty programs, promotions, surveys, sweepstakes, contests, or events.
    • Participation history, including points, redemptions, and related program data.


    • Preferences, favorites, and communications preferences, including:

    • Products you add to “favorites” or wish lists across our websites or outlet site.
    • Preferences related to how you shop and interact with our brands.
    • Mailing list and marketing communication preferences, including whether you have subscribed or unsubscribed to our mailing lists and how you prefer we contact you.


    • Location information, including:

    • General geographic location, such as country, state or province, city, or ZIP code, derived from your IP address, shipping address, billing address, or other information you provide.


    • Device and technical information, including:

    • IP address and device identifiers.
    • Browser type and settings, operating system and version, preferred language, and other technical data about the device you use to access the Services.
    • Information about your interactions with the Services, such as pages and products viewed, clickstream data, referring URLs, date and time of visits, page response times, download errors, length of visits, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse overs), and methods used to browse away from pages.


    • Content and communications you provide, including:

    • Information you send to us through “Contact Us” forms, live chat, email, or other support channels, including messages, screenshots, or attachments.
    • Information about whether and when you open our marketing emails, click on links, or interact with particular campaigns, pages, or forms.



    • We do not intentionally collect biometric identifiers (for example, fingerprints, faceprints, or voiceprints), health related information, or other sensitive personal data through the Services.



      We may also collect:

    • Statistics or Aggregated Information.Statistical or aggregated data does not directly identify a specific person, but we may derive non personal statistical or aggregated data from personal data. For example, we may aggregate personal data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific portal feature, product category, or campaign page. If we combine or connect aggregated or non personal data with personal data so that it directly or indirectly identifies an individual, we treat the combined information as personal data.
    • Technical Information. Technical information includes information about your internet connection and usage details about your interactions with the Services, such as traffic data, logs, and other communication data.

    • Request catalogs, media resources, or other materials, or subscribe to our mailing lists.
    • Use our live chat or contact our customer care team by phone, email, or web forms.
    • Participate in Hinkley Rewards or other programs.


    • 2. Automatically Through Our Services

      As you navigate through and interact with our Services, we and our service providers may use automatic data collection technologies to collect information that may include personal data. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies, including details of your interactions with our Services. We may use these automatic collection technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third party sites or other online services (behavioral tracking), to the extent permitted by applicable law. Using automatic collection technologies helps us improve our Services and deliver a better and more personalized experience.

      The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

    Our use of cookies and web beacons

    Cookies are small files that Web sites save to your hard disk or to your browser's memory. Our Web sites may use them to track the number of times you have visited the Web site, to track the number of visitors to the Web site, to determine and analyze visitors' use of our Web sites, to store data that you provide such as your preferences and e-mail address, and to store technical information related to your interactions with our Web sites.     Except as described below, personal data you provide via our Web sites will not be shared outside Hinkley, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and joint ventures without your consent.

Hinkley contracts with other companies to provide services on our behalf, such as hosting Web sites, sending out information, processing transactions, and analyzing our Web sites. We provide these companies with only those elements of your personal data they need to deliver those services.     • Disclosure on collaborative Web sites. Some of our Web sites may promote collaboration among registered users with respect to a particular area or topic (e.g. a "Forum" page). On those Web sites, we may share your username with other participants to label comments or suggestions that you make as yours. We do not, however, share your name, contact details, or other personal data with other users of those collaborative Web sites.

We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal requirements or with legal process served on us, to protect and defend our rights or property, or in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of any individual.

    Hinkley is committed to protecting the security of your personal data. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal data you provide on computer systems with limited access that are located in facilities to which access is limited. When you move around a site to which you have logged in, or from one site to another that uses the same login mechanism, we verify your identity by means of an encrypted cookie placed on your machine. When you place an order with us, view account information, or provide financial information, we protect the transmission of such data using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption.

    For sites to which you login, it is your responsibility to ensure the security of your password and not to reveal this information to others. If you are sharing a computer with anyone you should always logout before leaving a Web site so that subsequent users will not be able to access your data.

    In some cases, you can review and correct personal data provided through our Web sites by going to the page on which you provided the data.     Personal data collected on our Web sites may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Hinkley or its subsidiaries, affiliates, or joint ventures maintain facilities. While we try to link only to Web sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we do not control and are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices employed by other Web sites.     Children

    This site is a general audience site, although it contains information that may be of interest to children. However, Hinkley does not seek through this site to gather personal data from or about persons 18 years or younger.
